Cheri Yau has a heartfelt passion for serving our local community, she currently serves on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for Shinzen Friendship Garden Inc. in Woodward Park. What drew her interest to join The Garabedian Group was “our reputation in the community for cultivating long-term relationships with clients and delivering dependable advisory services.” Cheri is excited to bring her thoughtful expertise to our team and serve our local community and business owners.
Background
Cheri embarked on her professional journey, starting as a bookkeeper, catering to numerous law firms in San Francisco. Springing to the next step in her career, she served as an accountant for three years for an online modern lighting and furniture retailer. Her most career-defining moment was when she stepped into the role of a Business Manager for the Fresno County Public Defender’s Office, where she oversaw their financial landscape. During her time there, Cheri played a role in growing their revenue from 15 to 30 million dollars in the span of eight years. As of March 2024, Cheri has passed all four parts of the CPA exam and is officially a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
