The Accounting Yogi
Kelly brings mind, body, and spirit to our client’s ledger and business goals. With nine years of experience in the accounting industry and 200 hours to be a certified Yoga Instructor, Kelly has a way of putting life and money into balance. The Garabedian Group attracted Kelly with the firm’s power to lead business owners on the path of health and wellness for peace of mind in their businesses.
It took Kelly a few twists and turns to find her vocational center. Initially, she wanted to become an orthodontist.
However, the study of oral care did not advance, and she switched majors to Environmental Studies with a minor in Exercise and Health Science. After graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Kelly worked in the fitness industry, but little did she know the universe had other plans.
Growing up, Kelly was no stranger to the accounting world, as her now retired father was an internal auditor for the IRS, and her mother is a Certified Public Accountant who had her own practice for many years. Searching for a career with longevity, she realized accounting was her professional call in life and transferred her energy from the fitness industry to accounting.
Kelly started her journey as a clerk at a small public accounting firm while completing her accounting classes at UCSB. In no time at all, Kelly grew her knowledge and skills to pursue the necessary units to sit for the CPA Exam. For three years, Kelly ventured into the private accounting industry. She moved back to Clovis, immersed herself in tax, and prepared for the CPA Exam. For a time, she was a senior business analyst and performed a mix of both private and public accounting. Drawn to the mindful environment The Garabedian Group has created for its employees, Kelly rooted herself in our team and looks forward to connecting with and serving our clients.
Kelly served as the Vice President of Finance for The Junior League, Fresno chapter from 2019-2020. The Junior League is a national nonprofit committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Her biggest project with The Junior League of Santa Barbara was raising funds to open an eight-bedroom home for sex trafficking survivors.
