Job Description

  • Preparation of federal and state tax returns and supporting work papers - Individual, Corporate, Trust, and Partnership returns of various complexities. Prepare extensions and quarterly estimates.

  • Maintain and adjust general ledgers. Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts. 

  • Advise clients on various business-related issues, including federal and state tax returns, changes in tax laws, and compliance.

  • Engage in in-depth interaction and communication regarding complex tax and accounting matters with clients. Proactively build relationships and communicate effectively with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting, and business advisory.

  • Respond to notices from taxing authorities that may include preparation of letters and phone calls to agencies.

  • Prepare tax projections to assist clients with personal financial planning and decision-making.

  • Conduct tax research as needed. 

  • Prepare compiled and reviewed financial statements and related footnotes.

  • Ensure work is completed timely and accurately.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrate excellent team skills, a positive attitude, and high ethical standards.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other relevant field required.

  • 2+ years of public accounting experience, CPA License or actively pursuing licensure.

  • Experience preparing tax returns - 1040, 1041, 1065, 1120, 1120S, 706, and 709.

  • Experience on tax software like ProSystems, Lacerte, Ultratax, and Quickbooks.

  • Exhibit strong project management skills, time management, and the ability to work mindfully with others. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proactive and motivated with a personal accountability for professional growth.
