What qualities does it take to work at an accounting firm and what can you tell me about the team that works with you?  I beleive some good qualities are organizational skills, efficiency, teamwork, good communication, being a hard worker and having patience. I think that our team portrays many of these characteristics and then some.  Our culture is what makes our work environment such a special and unique place to be everyday.  Our team members know how to have a good time while getting our work done and meeting deadlines.  Whoever said accountants are boring obviously hasn’t been to The Garabedian Group.

What’s the most rewarding part of what you do? I work primarily in tax credits and I think it is very rewarding seeing how much money we save our clients through various tax credit programs.  (Enterprise Zone, Empowerment Zone and WOTC).

What innovations in the accounting world are you most excited about? The new advances in technology that allow us to complete our work quicker and more efficiently while allowing us to work remotely from any location.

What do you feel you have accomplished and what would you still like to accomplish in life? My graduating from college and having a full time job that I enjoy going to everyday is a great accomplishment.  I am working towards getting my CPA license at this time and might go for my masters after that.

What got you interested in becoming an accountant?  I’ve always enjoyed math and numbers and after taking my first accounting class in college, I immediately knew it’s what I wanted to do.

What was your first job and what did you learn from it? My first job was at a boutique called Biatou located in Fresno, CA. where I worked there after school and on weekends.  I learned how to manage my time, provide customer service to clients, open and close the store, and close out the register, all while providing some sort of fashion sense to myself and those around me.

What are your roots in the San Joaquin Valley? I was born and raised in Fresno, CA, and attended college at Fresno Pacific.

What do you do in your spare time? I enjoy exercising and being outdoors, watching movies, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
